The CNG-powered bus was carrying around 30 to 40 students when the accident occurred on a steep stretch of the ghat. The bus reportedly lost momentum while climbing the slope, rolled backwards and fell into a valley.

The injured students were taken to hospitals in Patas, Chaufula and Loni Kalbhor for treatment.

Local residents and police rushed to the spot and helped in the rescue operation following the accident.

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Pawar monitored the rescue efforts and directed authorities to ensure that the injured children received the best possible medical care.

The exact cause of the accident is yet to be established. Driver negligence and a possible mechanical failure are among the factors being examined, and an investigation is underway.

Parents have raised concerns over the condition of state transport buses as well as the safety of the steep road stretch where the accident occurred.
