The IMD has also forecast strong winds of 50 to 60 kmph, gusting up to 70 kmph, in these regions. Residents and tourists have been advised to avoid travelling through vulnerable ghat sections unless necessary.

Pune city is expected to receive moderate rainfall during the day. No weather alert has been issued for the city.

Mumbai and neighbouring areas are under a Yellow Alert for heavy rainfall. Across the Konkan region, districts are under Yellow and Orange Alerts, with very heavy rain likely at isolated places.

In Marathwada, several districts have been placed under an Orange Alert as heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected during the day.

Parts of Vidarbha are also likely to witness thunderstorms, accompanied by lightning and gusty winds in some districts.

Authorities have urged people to stay away from rivers, streams, waterfalls and other water bodies, as heavy rain could trigger a sudden rise in water levels. Residents have also been advised to avoid hill slopes and densely wooded areas due to the possibility of flash floods, landslides and falling trees.

People are advised to monitor official weather updates and exercise caution while travelling in rain-affected areas.
