Cybercrime: PCMC police offer guidance on how to report a cybercrime quickly

How to report a cybercrime

PuneNow, May 31, 2023: The Pimpri Chinchwad Police Commissionerate (PCMC) in Pune has officially outlined detailed measures for residents about how to report a cybercrime.

As part of their community outreach, they’re encouraging citizens to retain this information for rapid reference on ‘How to Report Cyber Crime’.

In a bid to make the process more accessible, PCMC police have offered five convenient options for citizens to report cybercrime incidents:

  1. Portal Reporting: Victims can file their complaints online at www.cybercrime.gov.in, the official cybercrime portal.
  2. Email Reporting: Write an email to cybercell.pcpc-mh@mahapolice.gov.in detailing the nature of the crime. Include any relevant screenshots and your contact information for follow-up actions.
  3. Walk-In Reporting: Visit the Cyber Cell located on the 2nd Floor of the Pimpri Chinchwad Police Commissionerate, Premlok Park, Chinchwad, MH 411033.
  4. Telephone Reporting: Call the PCMC police’s Cyber Cell directly at 02027350939 to file your complaint.
  5. Local Police Station Reporting: Victims can also visit any of the 18 police stations across PCMC to register a cyber fraud complaint.

The PCMC police stress that early reporting increases the likelihood of a successful investigation and recovery. While these guidelines are primarily intended for PCMC residents, those living elsewhere in Pune, Maharashtra, or throughout India may also follow similar steps to report cyber crimes to their respective police authorities.
