Traffic Alert: Temporary highway closure at Chandani Chowk due to installation of 9 girders
PUNE, July 03, 2023: Major flyover and road development operations have commenced at the Chandni Chowk area on the Mumbai Bangalore Highway. The work, under the supervision of the Warje Transport Department, involves the installation of 9 girders on NDA Pashan Road.
As a result, a temporary traffic diversion will be in effect from July 4th to July 15th, 2023. During this period, the Mumbai Bangalore Highway (NDA Pashan Road) will be closed nightly from 00:30 to 03:30 for the safe installation of the girders.
The Warje Traffic Department of Pune has proposed alternate routes for light and four-wheeler vehicles, excluding heavy vehicles. The alternate routes are as follows:
- Traffic proceeding from Satara to the Mumbai Highway will be rerouted via Ved Bhavan Savrahas Road towards Mumbai.
- Traffic from Mumbai to Satara will be diverted to Pashan Road, whereupon reaching ramp no. 6, vehicles will proceed to their respective destinations towards Warje.
The department urges commuters to adhere to the temporary changes to ensure the smooth flow of traffic and requests their cooperation for the duration of this vital infrastructure enhancement project.
