Pune: Traffic police officials meet Kalyani Nagar residents to dicuss traffic issues, take concrete steps

Traffic Resolution Kalyani Nagar

Pune, July 09, 2023: In a meeting held recently, senior traffic officials, led by Deputy Commissioner of Traffic Division Pune, Mr. Vijayakumar Magar, and former corporator, Mr. Yogesh Mulik, along with Kalyani Nagar residents, came together to discuss sustainable solutions to the traffic issues plaguing the area.

Residents, spearheaded by Team Swachh Kalyani Nagar and led by Rachna Agarwal, voiced their concerns, most notably about illegal rickshaw stands, commercial parking spaces, and vehicles parked in no parking zones. Recognizing the grievances, Mr. Magar assured comprehensive measures to resolve the problems and streamline the traffic flow.

Addressing the meeting, Mr. Magar stated, “We have reviewed the traffic condition in Kalyani Nagar. We will make provisions for one-sided parking, enforce strict actions against parking violations, and work with restaurant and food outlet owners to ensure parking in designated spaces only.” He emphasized that the aim was to ensure a smooth traffic flow and eliminate parking-related issues.

Following the meeting, Mr. Magar personally visited several establishments, including Irani Cafe, Flour Works, 3rd Wave, Elephant n Co, Happa, Pergola, and commercial complexes within the Silver Oak Society. He instructed owners and managers to strictly abide by the allotted parking limits to avoid immediate punitive action.

The DCP also took note of trucks and school buses parked unlawfully outside D Mart, and inappropriate parking near multiple small kiosks next to the playground plot. He assured prompt action against these violations, and announced the deployment of four additional traffic wardens at main junctions within Kalyani Nagar. It was also decided that the illegal rickshaw stands would be removed.

Former Corporator Yogesh Mulik, expressing satisfaction at the meeting’s outcomes, said, “I am pleased to see concrete solutions being chalked out related to traffic for Kalyani Nagar residents. The positive responses from the residents present in the meeting are a testament to our collective efforts.”

The community’s reception to the assurances given by the officials was largely positive, reflecting a hopeful anticipation of the improved traffic situation in the near future.
