Pune: Surge in rainfall activity from tonight, Hinjewadi, Bavdhan etc. may even see more than 50mm rain

Pune, July 04, 2023: The city is bracing for a significant rise in rainfall starting tonight. According to the Indian Meteorological Department’s Global Forecast System (IMD-GFS), the city is set to experience a gradual uptick in precipitation over the next few days.

Vineet Kumar, who specializes in the study of ocean-cyclone interaction and changes in cyclone activity worldwide, has provided detailed forecasts for the imminent rainfall. As per Kumar’s analysis, Pune city will see 15-20mm of rain on 5th July, which is expected to escalate in the following days.

The forecast further states that Pune should brace itself for 35-45mm of rain on 6th July. In particular, regions such as Hinjewadi, Talegaon, Bavdhan, and other areas of West Pune could witness even more intense rainfall. Predictions indicate these areas may receive over 50mm of rain.

Local authorities urge residents to stay updated on the latest weather forecasts and be prepared for possible disruptions due to the increased rainfall. Extra precautions are advised for those residing in the mentioned areas of West Pune due to the likelihood of heavier rainfall.
