Pune: National Defence College Delegation Visits Southern Command Headquarters
Pune, September 23, 2026: A 15-member delegation of the 66th National Defence College (NDC) Course visited the Headquarters Southern Command as part of its Forward Area Tour.
The delegation was led by Air Vice Marshal Manish V Patel, VM, SDS (Air), and included six officers from friendly foreign countries, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Tanzania and Japan. A scientist from Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL) was also part of the delegation.
During the visit, the delegation was briefed on operational and logistics aspects, including the strengths and challenges faced by forces in forward areas. The members also interacted with the senior leadership at Southern Command.
The visit was aimed at giving the delegation a better understanding of operational realities and providing an opportunity for professional exchange and military cooperation.
