Pune/Hinjawadi: PCMC Police Commissioner Visits Metro Construction Site, Takes Immediate Steps to Remove Traffic Chokepoints
PCMC Police Commissioner Inspects Traffic Chokepoints in Hinjawadi.
Pune/Hinjawadi: Pimpri Chinchwad Police Commissioner Vinod Kumar Chaubey yesterday visited multiple key traffic congestion points. One of them was the construction corridor for Hinjawadi-Shivajinagar Metro Line, also called as Metro Line 3 as well as Puneri Metro.
It is noteworthy that this line has been in construction for the last 3 years and has caused tremendous inconvenience to commuters driving on the Wakad-Hinjawadi-Phase 3 road.
Commissioner Chaubey surveyed the under construction metro line areas from Mann to Balewadi along with metro officials and traffic police personnel.
Based on his assessment and feedback from citizens and the IT industries, he took following decisions on the spot to alleviate traffic problems between Mann to Balewadi:
- The barricades to be pulled inside or removed from the stretches where metro work has been completed or is in the last stages, reclaiming the road width to ease traffic congestion.
- Roads to be levelled and aligned properly after removing barricades to ensure smooth traffic flow.
- Any other obstructions leftover from the metro work causing traffic chokepoints to be removed immediately.
Metro officials have sought 10 days time to execute these decisions. Meanwhile the officials have been instructed to take responsibility and implement the above changes as per instructions to avoid further inconvenience to commuters using this road.
