Mixed weather in Maharashtra, maximum temperature to rise, hot and humid conditions with thunderstorms

Weathermen have predicted heatwave, high daytime temperatures and hot & humid weather conditions at various places across Maharashtra for the next three days.

Anupam Kashyapi, former head of weather forecasting division, IMD Pune has said that maximum temperature is likely to rise in Maharashtra for the next three days.

Raigad and Thane will endure heatwave from April 27 to 29. Heatwave is also likely in Palghar and Mumbai on April 28-29. Sindhudurg and Ratnagiri will experience heatwave on April 28.

Most of the state will witness hot and humid conditions with possibility of isolated rain and thundershower.

For the time being, no heatwave predicted for Pune, even though the district is experiencing hot summer. The maximum temperature will hover around 40 degrees Celsius and will come down little from May 03.

Regional Meteorological Center (RMC), Mumbai predicts thunderstorm and gusty winds (speed 30-40 kmph) with light rain is likely over the districts of Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada and Vidarbha at one or two places.

Overall across the country, IMD predicts heat wave to severe heat wave conditions very likely to prevail at many places over Gangetic West Bengal at some places over north Odisha and heat wave conditions in isolated pockets over Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim, Konkan & Goa, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & Karaikal, Rayalaseema and Interior Karnataka on 29th April, 2024.
