CBSE Class 12 Result 2026 Live: Results Expected Soon; Check Latest Update, DigiLocker & UMANG Access
The wait for over 18.5 lakh students is nearly over as the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) prepares to activate the Class 12 result link, potentially marking one of the earliest declarations in recent history.
CBSE Class 12 Result 2026: Expected Date and Time
While the Board has not yet released a formal circular, senior officials indicate that the CBSE Class 12 Result 2026 is expected to be announced by April 30, 2026. Following the trend set by the early release of Class 10 results on April 15, speculation is rife that the Senior Secondary scores will go live during the afternoon hours (typically between 12 PM and 2 PM) within the next 48 hours.
Faster Evaluation via On-Screen Marking (OSM)
A major catalyst for the accelerated timeline this year is the full-scale implementation of the On-Screen Marking (OSM) system. Unlike traditional manual checking, answer sheets were scanned and assessed digitally through a secure cloud-based platform.
This shift reduced the evaluation window from 12 days to just 9 days, ensuring higher accuracy and faster data collation. The Board is currently in the “Result Compilation” phase, which involves final tallying and site-loading.
Official Websites to Check Results
Once the “Result 2026” tab is active, students can access their scorecards on:
- cbse.gov.in
- results.cbse.nic.in
- cbseresults.nic.in
How to Check CBSE 12th Result 2026 Online
Students must keep their Admit Card handy to avoid last-minute panic. Follow these steps:

- Click on the link titled “Senior School Certificate Examination (Class XII) Results 2026”.
- Enter your Roll Number, School Number, and Admit Card ID.

Alternative Platforms: DigiLocker and UMANG
Due to heavy traffic, official websites may experience downtime. Students are encouraged to use DigiLocker. With the APAAR ID system now integrated, marksheets will be pre-loaded into students’ digital vaults. Users can also access results via the UMANG app or through the Board’s SMS service by sending their roll number to the designated CBSE number.
Passing Criteria and Grace Marks
To qualify for the CBSE 12th Result 2026, students must secure a minimum of 33% marks in both theory and practical components separately. The Board continues its policy of awarding “Grace Marks” to students who are marginally short of the passing threshold in a single subject, ensuring a fair assessment of academic performance during the transition to digital checking.
