Reliance Enters Ice Cream Market With Bombay Creamery, Prices Start at ₹10
Reliance Consumer Products Limited (RCPL), the FMCG arm of Reliance Industries Limited, has entered the ice cream market with the launch of Bombay Creamery, a new dairy ice cream brand with prices starting at ₹10.
The company announced the launch on September 1, with Bombay Creamery becoming immediately available in Western India. RCPL said the brand will subsequently be rolled out across India.
The range includes cones, cups, tubs, bars and sticks. According to RCPL, the ice creams are made with real dairy cream, with the company positioning Bombay Creamery as an accessible premium dairy brand.
“We built Bombay Creamery around one simple idea that dairy shouldn’t need shortcuts. RCPL is not just entering the ice cream category, we’re committing to it. Made with real dairy cream, Bombay Creamery guarantees the promise of genuine taste of a real ice cream every single time, at a price every Indian family can afford,” T Krishnakumar, Director, Reliance Consumer Products Limited, said.
RCPL said Bombay Creamery will be backed by its national distribution infrastructure and retail network. The company has described the launch as a long-term entry into the ice cream category.
The initial rollout covers Western India, with a pan-India expansion planned subsequently.
