Pune: Tanker overturns on Chandannagar-Kharadi BRT Lane, disrupts traffic
PUNE, June 13, 2023 – A major traffic disruption is expected on the busy Nagar Road in Pune as a tanker loaded with mustard oil overturned on the Chandannagar-Kharadi Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) lane earlier today.
According to initial reports, the tanker carrying the oil flipped on its side, leading to significant leakage onto the road. The incident occurred on the Chandannagar-Kharadi BRT lane, which is known to be one of the city’s key arteries.
The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) fire brigade team has arrived on the scene and is currently undertaking efforts to clean the spilled oil. Emergency responders are working hard to contain the situation and prevent further contamination, but the process is expected to take several hours, leading to potential traffic snarls in the vicinity.
Motorists travelling in and around the area are being advised to exercise caution, and those planning to use Nagar Road today should consider alternative routes or expect delays.
The cause of the tanker’s overturning is yet to be determined, and investigations are underway.
