Pune Metro and IT Companies collaborate to improve last-mile connectivity for employees

Pune Metro and IT Companies collaborate

Pune Metro has started a collaborative partnership with local businesses and IT companies with the goal of enhancing last-mile connectivity for their employees using the metro services. First example of such a collaboration was revealed on Wednesday when an IT company partnered with Pune Metro to make staff commuting easier, demonstrating the company’s dedication to both environmental sustainability and employee well-being.

Cybage Software, an IT company located in Kalyaninagar, pioneered this initiative by launching shuttle services for its employees following the commencement of the Metro’s Ruby Hall to Ramwadi stretch. This shuttle service adds a crucial link towards the last mile connectivity from the metro station to the workplace, thus addressing the commuting challenges faced by employees. More than 300 Cybage employees are now utilizing the Metro service from Kalyaninagar station.

Arun Nathani, CEO and MD of Cybage, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, highlighting its role in building a culture of safety, sustainability, and responsible business practices within Pune’s IT sector. The company’s proactive approach in offering dedicated shuttle services aims to reduce the stress and fatigue resulting from daily commutes, therefore also increasing Metro ridership in the months ahead.

The collaboration between Cybage and Maha-Metro is not only making commuting easy but also contributing to a reduction in traffic and pollution, as noticed by a decrease in the number of vehicles on the road. This initiative is part of a larger effort by Pune Metro to align corporate sponsors for station naming rights, a strategy that has seen positive responses from eight corporate houses, including sponsorships for stations at Kalyaninagar, Pune Station, Sant Tukram Nagar, Ruby Hall Clinic, and Bhosari.

Pune Metro’s line-2 route from Ruby Hall Clinic to Ramwadi, a 5.5-kilometer stretch that extends the total line-2 distance to 15.7 kilometers, commenced operations on March 6. This development is expected to enhance public transportation options for Pune’s residents, offering a sustainable alternative to private vehicle use.
