Pune-Hyd Indigo Flight Suffers Damage Due to Bird Strike; Aircraft Damage Causes Onward Flight Cancelation
An Indigo flight operating between Pune and Hyderabad on October 04 suffered a bird strike as the flight was making its final approach into Rajiv Gandhi International Airport at Hyderabad.
An Indigo Airbus A321neo operating as flight 6E352 from Pune to Hyderabad suffered a bird strike to its nose on final approach at Hyderabad airport. None of the passengers and crew sustained any injuries and the aircraft made a safe and routine landing at Hyderabad.
The aircraft took off from Pune at 6.32 am and landed in Hyderabad at 7.23 am. The damage to the nose/front portion of the aircraft was detected after the aircraft landed at Hyderabad airport. The aircraft was grounded for further inspection and its onward flight to Chandigarh was canceled.
The airport authorities inspected the runway checking for any anomalies and debris as a precautionary measure.
The passengers on board the aircraft described the flight as routine and smooth without any noticeable impact. They learnt of the incident only while disembarking.
