Pune, September 10, 2026: A major fire broke out in Hadapsar at around 12 noon near Lane No. 1, close to Sane Guruji Hospital on DP Road. The fire quickly spread to 10 tin-sheet houses due to densely packed structures in the area.
After receiving the alert, fire brigade teams quickly rushed to the spot. Fire tenders were dispatched from Hadapsar, BT Kawade Road and Kale-Borate Nagar Fire Stations. A water tanker from Kondhwa Budruk was also sent to ensure adequate supply of water to put out the blaze.
As fire teams were fighting the blaze, an LPG cylinder exploded. Consequently, fire teams quickly removed 10 other LPG cylinders from the area, preventing more explosions and possibly a much bigger disaster.
Eventually fire fighters were able to douse the flames and bring the fire under control.
Despite the magnitude of fire and an LPG cylinder explosion, no injuries or loss of life were reported.
Fire experts are conducting an enquiry to identify the cause of fire.
