Equipped with heavy demolition machinery and backed by a strong police contingent, officials from the PMC’s building permission department executed the drive without facing any major resistance on the ground. The illegal structure was completely razed after the site owners failed to show authorized approvals.

Following the operation, civic officials issued a stern advisory to residents and developers across the city, warning against erecting structures without proper clearance.

“Citizens must not undertake any construction activity without obtaining prior permission from the PMC and getting their Development Plan (D.P.) approved,” a senior civic official involved in the drive stated. “Any illegal work detected will face immediate action under municipal regulations.”

The civic body has signaled that similar anti-encroachment drives will continue aggressively across other revenue wards in the coming weeks.
