Under its newly announced MIDC Innovation Grand Challenge 2026, the state’s industrial infrastructure body is offering a total prize pool of ₹2 Crore to innovators who can bring practical, ground-ready answers to five long-standing problems plaguing Maharashtra’s industrial hubs.

- Carbon Capture & Emission Management: Tools to track, limit, and curb air emissions coming out of industrial belts.
- Waste, Water & Effluent Recycling: Modern treatment systems to reuse industrial wastewater and manage chemical or solid waste safely.
- Green Energy Solutions: Renewable power setups tailored to reduce the high energy bills and carbon footprint of factories.
- AI-Driven Infrastructure: Artificial intelligence tools to streamline daily estate management, utility monitoring, and safety operations.

The challenge is open to students, early-stage startups, and independent innovators. MIDC has made it clear that they are not looking for theoretical presentations or research papers—the focus is entirely on solutions that can be deployed right away in real industrial zones across the state.
