Central Railway Announces Weekend Special Trains Between Pune and Nagpur to Ease Passenger Rush

PUNE: In a proactive move to manage the surging influx of travelers, Central Railway has announced the operation of weekend special train services between Pune and Nagpur. These additional services are designed to provide relief to commuters by offering more comfortable and timely travel options during the high-demand weekend period.

The special services will include Train No. 01467 (Pune to Nagpur) and Train No. 01468 (Nagpur to Pune). According to the official schedule:

  • Train No. 01467: Departs Pune on Friday, May 1, 2026, at 15:50 hrs and is scheduled to reach Nagpur at 08:05 hrs the following morning.
  • Train No. 01468: Departs Nagpur on Sunday, May 3, 2026, at 07:00 hrs, arriving back in Pune at 23:30 hrs on the same day.

To ensure wide connectivity, these trains will make key stops at major stations including Uruli, Daund Chord Line, Ahilyanagar, Belapur, Kopargaon, Manmad, Jalgaon, Bhusaval, Malkapur, Shegaon, Akola, Badnera, Dhamangaon, and Wardha.

The train composition is designed to cater to various passenger needs, featuring one AC-2 Tier coach, one AC-3 Tier coach, 12 Sleeper Class coaches, and 4 General Second Class coaches, along with two Guard’s Brake Vans.

Booking Information Reservations for these special services, including Train No. 01022 as per official updates, will open on April 29, 2026. Passengers can book their tickets through the IRCTC website (www.irctc.co.in), the IRCTC app, or the RailOne app. Given the anticipated demand, travelers are encouraged to book early to secure their seats.
