Pune: Electric Two-Wheeler Catches Fire in Narayan Peth Society Parking, Flames Spread to Car

Pune: An electric two-wheeler caught fire in the basement parking of Rudra Society near Narayan Peth Police Chowki around 6 am on Friday, with the flames spreading to a car parked next to it. The Pune Fire Brigade brought the blaze under control before it could spread further. No injuries were reported.

Residents noticed black smoke and a burning smell from the parking area and alerted the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) Fire Brigade. Firefighters rushed to the society and used water hoses to extinguish the flames.

The fire damaged the electric two-wheeler as well as the four-wheeler parked alongside it. Timely intervention by the fire brigade prevented the blaze from spreading to other vehicles and parts of the building.

The exact cause of the fire is yet to be established. Officials are investigating whether an electrical short circuit during charging or a problem with the EV battery triggered the blaze.

No residents or other persons were injured in the incident.
