Pune: Smart City Lavasa to Get a Police Chowky Soon; Christ University Thanks Rural Police
Lavasa, Pune, September 18: A police chowki will soon become operational at Lavasa, strengthening the police presence and improving access to law enforcement services for residents, students, educational institutions and visitors in the area.
The proposed police chowki was discussed during a meeting with Pune Rural Superintendent of Police Sandeep Singh Gill on September 18. The meeting focused on measures to strengthen safety and security arrangements in Lavasa and the surrounding region.
According to information shared by CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Lavasa, the new police chowki is expected to improve the accessibility and responsiveness of police services in the area. Its establishment is also expected to strengthen the local security infrastructure and facilitate quicker police support when required.
A delegation from CHRIST University’s Lavasa campus met Gill and discussed issues concerning the safety and security of the university as well as the wider Lavasa community. The university thanked the Pune Rural SP for his intervention and support on the matters raised during the meeting.
The delegation included Adv. Dr. Sawatee Yogesh, Dean and Director Dr. Fr. Lijo Thomas, Dr. Fr. Peter M. V., and Public Relations Officer Javed Khan.
The university said it looks forward to continued coordination with Pune Rural Police on matters concerning the safety and security of students, residents and the local community.
