Pune, August 4: Around 10 to 15 vehicles reportedly skidded on the road between Old RTO Chowk and Naidu Hospital in Pune on Tuesday morning after mud mixed with vehicle oil made the surface dangerously slippery. The incidents led to a series of minor accidents, prompting an emergency response from the Pune Fire Brigade and traffic diversions in the area.

According to initial information, the road became hazardous after a large quantity of mud and oil accumulated on the carriageway. Several two-wheelers and a few four-wheelers reportedly lost control within a short span while passing through the stretch, resulting in multiple minor accidents.

The Pune Fire Brigade reached the spot soon after receiving information and began cleaning the road to remove the mud and oil. The operation is aimed at restoring safe driving conditions and preventing further accidents.

Meanwhile, the Pune Traffic Police have temporarily diverted traffic on the affected stretch to facilitate the cleanup and ensure the safety of commuters. Traffic movement in the area may remain affected until the road is fully cleared.

In an advisory issued on social media, the Pune City Police said nearly 10 to 15 vehicles had met with accidents due to the mud and oil on the road between Juna RTO Chowk and Naidu Hospital. The police urged motorists to drive carefully while travelling through the area as fire brigade operations continue.

No serious injuries had been reported at the time of writing. Officials are expected to inspect the stretch after the cleanup to ensure it is safe before normal traffic movement is restored.
