Swiggy Launches ‘Late Night Eats’, a Lifeline for Night Owls and Midnight Hunger Pangs
If you’ve ever stared blankly at your laptop screen past midnight, stomach growling, with nothing but vending machine chips to keep you going, Swiggy has just heard your silent prayer. The food-delivery giant has rolled out a new programme called ‘Late Night Eats,’ aimed squarely at the nation’s growing army of professionals burning the midnight oil.
Starting today, workers in over 4,000 office locations across the top 30 cities can order from a specially curated menu between 10 PM and 5 AM. That means thousands of IT professionals, BPO employees, and global team coordinators now have access to more than 30,000 restaurants that are ready to serve up everything from stress-busting fries to shareable pizzas.
But this isn’t just your standard burger-and-fries delivery. Swiggy has gotten creative, designing meal categories that feel almost too relatable. Need something you can eat with one hand while typing? Check out the “One-Handed Grabbies” (rolls and wraps). Watching your health even at 1 AM? There’s “Healthy Nibbles” with grain bowls and salads. And for those pulling an all-nighter, “Sip-tastic Fuel” promises to keep the caffeine flowing with coffee and shakes.
The service also introduces the “2 AM Club,” a curated list of dependable restaurants that stay open until at least 2 AM, guaranteeing that your dinner doesn’t turn into a breakfast order by accident.
Tier-2 Cities Leading the Charge
While metros have long dominated the late-night economy, Swiggy’s data reveals a surprising shift. Cities like Bhubaneswar, Goa, Kochi, Lucknow, Vizag, and Ahmedabad are seeing double-digit growth in office orders after 10 PM, proving that the “always-on” work culture has firmly taken root beyond Mumbai and Bengaluru. A significant 25% of corporate employees in these hubs now place food orders after 10 PM while at the office.
“We have observed that post-10 PM office orders have increased year-on-year, reflecting the growing role of food during late working hours,” said Deepak Maloo, Vice President of Food Strategy at Swiggy. “We’ve reimagined how food delivery can serve customers working the night, through curated choices, faster delivery, and greater value.”
For Pune’s techies, this might just be the most practical update of the year. As one Bengaluru-based program manager put it in the release: “Finding good food options after regular dinner hours isn’t always easy. This makes it genuinely useful.”
With top brands like Burger King, Domino’s, McDonald’s, KFC, and Subway already on board, the city’s late-night workforce can finally say goodbye to instant noodles and hello to a proper midnight meal.
