Chaos on the Road: Tiger Attempts to Cross Near Tadoba, Passersby Become the Real ‘Wild’ Animals
In a tense display of nature versus human recklessness, a video circulating on social media has sparked widespread outrage, showing the moment a tiger attempted to cross a busy road near the Mohurli-Chandrapur route close to Tadoba National Park.
While the big cat appeared focused and calm, merely trying to navigate its habitat, the humans on the scene were anything but. The video captures a crowd of passersby shouting, laughing, and making a deafening ruckus as they surrounded the area. Rather than giving the wild animal the space it required, the onlookers behaved with what many online are calling a shocking lack of civic sense and survival instinct.
‘Who is the real animal here?’
The clip, shared by a user on X (formerly Twitter), has amassed over 212,000 views and ignited a fierce debate about human behavior in wildlife zones. The caption accompanying the video aptly summarized the irony: “More than the tiger, passersby turned wild showcasing their true behavior.”
Social media users were quick to condemn the crowd’s actions. One user, Aditya P. Deshpande, commented, “Zero civic sense 🫣 The tiger will not think twice before mauling any of those eager men with a death wish.” Another user, Meghna Girish, pointed out the painful irony, stating, “Behaviour of wild animals seems far more dignified…”
The sentiment was echoed by Siddharth Dialani, who posed the question on many people’s minds: “Who is the real animal here? 😑”

‘Harassment of wildlife used to be a serious offence’
The reactions ranged from disbelief to outright fury. Many pointed out that the tiger displayed more composure than the humans encroaching on its path. User Abhinav Singh noted the tiger’s restraint, writing, “These people were aggressively trying to get a reaction, but the tiger never took the bait. He understood what even his deep roar is capable of, but of course he chose not to.”
Others expressed a grim reality: if the tiger had felt threatened enough to attack, the animal would have paid the ultimate price. As user Neelesh Sethi lamented, “If the tiger attacks in self-defense, he will be put down… the human race is the most dumbest race in spite of being intelligent.”
Criticism was also directed at the lack of protocol enforcement. Keisha Jazz questioned the role of safari officials, stating, “We should also hold the safari officials/authorities accountable for not giving the right protocols or guidelines when it comes to public spotting wild animals. These guys come on a safari hoping they encounter the wild animals. They pay the money to get kicks out of bothering them.”
A Call for Accountability
Several users tagged the Maharashtra Forest Department (@MahaForest) and other officials, urging them to take notice of the incident. The consensus online is clear: such behavior is not just annoying, but dangerous for both the public and the wildlife.
As one user, Arvind Kumar, eloquently put it in Hindi: “The tiger was just trying to cross the road, but humans turned it into a circus show. Until we learn basic respect for wildlife, we do not deserve to call ourselves ‘civilized.’”
In a moment where the line between the wild and the civilized blurred, it was the tiger who walked away with dignity, leaving the humans to face the judgment of the internet.
