Starting from March 1, 2026, citizens with outstanding property tax arrears can avail of a massive 90% discount on the accumulated delay penalty. The scheme is designed as a one-month window, valid strictly until March 31, 2026.

Golden Opportunity for Taxpayers

The Tax Taxation and Tax Collection Department stated that this initiative aims to encourage residents to clear their long-pending dues. Under the guidelines of the scheme, the 90% rebate applies specifically to the fine or penalty amount charged on the original tax principal.

Special Weekend Operations

To ensure maximum participation and convenience for the public, PCMC has announced that all zonal offices will remain open on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays throughout the month of March. This decision ensures that working professionals and residents can settle their dues without disrupting their weekday schedules.

How to Pay

Residents can visit their respective divisional offices or use the PCMC ‘Sarathi’ portal to check their outstanding amounts and make payments. The civic body has urged citizens to grab this “golden opportunity” to regularize their tax records and avoid future legal actions or higher penalties.
