Responding to an urgent request from civic authorities, the IAF on Tuesday confirmed that it has deployed a dedicated team of Air Warriors to the crash site. The team is providing essential basic Air Traffic Control (ATC) and Meteorological services to ensure safe air operations from Baramati Airport.

In an official statement shared on social media, the Indian Air Force said the rapid deployment reflects its commitment to national service in times of crisis. With civil aviation infrastructure under strain after the accident, the IAF’s support is aimed at stabilising operations and assisting local authorities managing the aftermath.

The Learjet 45 crash at Baramati Airport has sent shockwaves across Maharashtra. The aircraft went down during landing amid poor visibility and dense fog, bursting into flames on impact. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has since released a detailed sequence of events leading to the crash, while state authorities have announced official mourning.

Ajit Pawar’s funeral is scheduled with full state honours, and investigations are underway to determine the exact technical and operational factors behind the accident. The presence of the IAF team is expected to remain crucial until normal ATC and weather monitoring services are fully restored.

As rescue, recovery, and investigation efforts continue, the IAF’s swift action has been widely acknowledged as a critical support measure during one of Maharashtra’s most tragic aviation incidents in recent years.
