Widespread Dip in Temperature

Much of the state is experiencing the impact of the cold wave in Maharashtra. North Maharashtra, Marathwada, Western Maharashtra and parts of Vidarbha are reporting the biggest drop in temperature. Weather officials expect the chill to continue for the next couple of days.

Mumbai and Konkan: Cooler Nights Ahead

Mumbai is likely to see clear skies with a maximum of 33°C and a minimum of 19°C.
Konkan districts like Thane, Palghar, Raigad, Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg will also experience cooler nights as the cold spell spreads.

Pune and Western Maharashtra: Single-Digit Mornings

Pune has slipped into its first strong winter phase with single-digit temperatures in several pockets.

Recent readings include:
• Pashan: 9°C
• Shivajinagar: 9.4°C
• Haveli: 6.9°C
• Baramati: 8.9°C
• Talegaon and Daund: 9.9°C
• Malin: 9.2°C

Foggy mornings are affecting visibility, especially for early commuters. The IMD expects a slight rise in Pune’s night temperatures after November 18, but the morning chill will continue.

Marathwada: IMD Issues Cold Wave Alert

The cold wave in Maharashtra is particularly strong in Marathwada.
Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Jalna, Parbhani, Beed and Hingoli are under alert as temperatures dip further. Clear skies are speeding up night-time cooling across the region.

North Maharashtra: Strong Chill Persists

Nashik remains one of the coldest districts. Temperatures may touch 10°C, while Dhule and Jalgaon continue to stay under IMD warning as the cold wave intensifies.

Vidarbha: Steady Drop in Morning Temperatures

Nagpur will record a maximum of 27°C and a minimum of around 12°C.
Gondia and Bhandara are showing a similar trend, with residents waking up to cold mornings and a noticeable evening chill.

Eight Districts Under Yellow Alert

The IMD has placed the following districts under a cold wave warning:

• Dhule
• Nashik
• Jalgaon
• Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar
• Jalna
• Parbhani
• Beed
• Hingoli

Residents are advised to take winter precautions, especially during foggy hours and late evenings.

Health Problems Rise Due to Sudden Weather Change

The sudden temperature drop has triggered a rise in health issues across the state. Pune, in particular, has reported more cases of respiratory irritation as the cold wave in Maharashtra strengthens.

Doctors are seeing an increase in:

• Asthma attacks
• Seasonal cough and cold
• Dust and temperature-related allergies
• Breathing discomfort among children and senior citizens

Fog and dry air are irritating the airway, making people more vulnerable to infections. Sudden exposure to cold winds is also triggering cough and chest tightness in many individuals.

How to Stay Safe During the Cold Spell

Health experts recommend simple steps to stay protected during this phase:

• Dress in layers and cover the head, neck and ears
• Avoid stepping out early in dense fog
• Drink warm water and stay hydrated
• Use masks to limit dust and cold air exposure
• Keep inhalers and allergy medication handy
• Ensure children and elderly people stay warm indoors

With the cold wave in Maharashtra expected to continue for a few more days, residents are advised to take precautions and stay updated with IMD alerts.
