You know how some days you just miss your friends? It turns out we’re not the only ones. A stray dog in Mumbai recently became an internet sensation for doing exactly that.

A charming photo taken at the Motilal Oswal Metro Station showed the lonely dog sitting perfectly still on the platform. With his head hanging down a little, he looked like a commuter who had just missed his train. The image, shared online with the caption, “Someone please give him a ticket,” quickly captured the hearts of thousands.

Everyone wondered: what was this good boy waiting for?

Thankfully, the authorities had the adorable answer. The Maha Mumbai Metro Operation Corporation Ltd (MMMOCL) noticed the buzz and decided to play along. In a light-hearted post, they revealed they had “inquired with this furry friend” and discovered his sweet motive.

It turns out, he wasn’t there to catch a train. He had actually dropped by the station to visit a pal, a member of the metro’s official canine squad. The metro employs 30 highly trained dogs that work hard to keep the trains safe for millions of commuters. While this visitor isn’t on the payroll, he clearly knows where to find his four-legged friends (and maybe score a treat or two).

The wholesome exchange between the metro officials and the public was a hit. People online loved the dog’s patient expression and the metro’s charming response. One user called the pup a “loyal sentinel of fur and heart,” while others simply commented, “Cute.”

It’s a simple story, but it’s a beautiful reminder of the unexpected ways animals bring joy into our daily routines, turning an ordinary metro platform into a place for a heartwarming reunion.
