A Thrilling New Tourist Destination

The Napne Glass Bridge, funded under the Sindhuratna tourism promotion scheme, is designed to offer visitors a daring yet safe vantage point to admire the perennial Napne Waterfall. The bridge will allow tourists to experience the waterfall’s majestic beauty up close, even during the monsoon when the raging waters make traditional viewing unsafe.

Natural Beauty and Accessibility

  • Napne Waterfall flows year-round, attracting families and nature lovers, especially in summer when visitors wade into its cool waters.
  • Located just 6 km from Nadhavade village and 3 km from Vaibhavwadi railway station, the site is easily accessible.
  • During monsoons, the waterfall becomes fierce, making the glass bridge a safe alternative for an immersive experience.

Innovative Design and Attractions

The glass bridge features:

  • colorful arch-style railing for a visually striking appearance.
  • Stairs with wooden-style railings for safe access.
  • panoramic view of the main waterfall as well as smaller cascades upstream.
  • An artificial butterfly sculpture at the entrance, already a popular selfie spot.
  • Wildlife and bird paintings on nearby rocks, enhancing the site’s aesthetic and educational value.

Boosting Eco-Tourism in Konkan

The push to develop Napne Falls into a major tourist hub gained momentum after inspections by former Guardian Minister Deepak Kesarkar and then Tourism Minister Jaykumar Rawal. The Public Works Department (PWD) was tasked with creating a master plan, leading to the current design featuring the glass bridge, access steps, and essential tourist amenities.

Once open in the coming weeks, the Napne Glass Bridge is expected to significantly boost tourism in Sindhudurg, offering an eco-friendly yet thrilling experience unlike any other in Maharashtra.
