Pune: Eknath Shinde Conducts Special Meeting to Resolve Key Issues of 23 Villages Included in PMC Limits

Mumbai, June 26, 2025: A crucial meeting was held yesterday at the Sahyadri Guest House in Mumbai to address various pressing issues concerning 23 villages recently incorporated into the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) limits. The meeting reviewed key challenges and issued directives for their immediate resolution. Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde presided over the discussions, attended by MLA Vijay Shivtare, MP Medha Kulkarni, Principal Secretary of Urban Development Dr. K.H. Govindaraj, PMC Commissioner Naval Kishore Ram, Zilla Parishad CEO Gajanan Patil, and other senior officials.
Key Decisions Taken:
- ₹10 Crore Funds Allocated – ₹5 crore sanctioned for the new Nagar Parishad of Fursungi-Uruli Devachi and another ₹5 crore for the development of the 23 newly included villages.
- Waste Management in Ambegaon Budruk – The meeting directed the scientific segregation and proper disposal of waste at the local garbage depot to address foul odor complaints from residents.
- Water Purification for Jambhulwadi Lake – The 65 million cubic feet capacity Jambhulwadi Lake’s water will be treated and tested for potability before being supplied to Ambegaon Khurd, Budruk, and other villages.
- Tax Recovery Drive – An immediate amnesty scheme will be implemented to recover pending taxes from these villages, following Urban Development Department guidelines.
- Reinstatement of 626 Employees – Technical issues under the Akrutibandh scheme had led to the removal of 626 village panchayat employees. The administration has now ordered their reinstatement.
Deputy CM Shinde emphasized prompt execution of these decisions to ensure holistic development in the newly merged areas.
