India Revokes Security Clearance of Turkish Firm Celebi Over National Security Concerns

Ministry of Civil Aviation Takes Swift Action Following Public Demand to Protect National Interests
New Delhi, May 15, 2025 – In a significant move, the Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA) has revoked the security clearance of Celebi NAS Airport Services India Pvt. Ltd, a Turkish company providing ground handling services at major Indian airports. The decision comes amid growing public demand to prioritize national security and safeguard India’s aviation infrastructure.
Background of the Decision
The Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS), under the Ministry of Civil Aviation, issued an official order (No. BCAS-HQ/2025/security clearance GHA/RA/E-272989) cancelling Celebi’s security clearance with immediate effect. The company had initially received approval in November 2022 but has now been deemed a potential risk to national security.
Public Sentiment & Government Response
Numerous requests from citizens and authorities across India urged the government to take action against Celebi. Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation, Murlidhar Mohol, emphasized, “Ensuring the safety and interests of the nation remains our top priority.”
Immediate Impact
The revocation means Celebi can no longer operate ground handling services at key airports, including Delhi, Bengaluru, Goa, Hyderabad, and Cochin. Airport operators and security agencies have been directed to enforce the order without delay.

Conclusion
This decisive step reinforces the Indian government’s commitment to aviation security and sovereign interests. Further investigations may follow to assess any potential threats linked to foreign entities in critical infrastructure roles.
