Pune and Maharashtra are expected to see a slight relief from the recent premature temperature rise.

According to Anupam Kashyapi, former head of weather forecasting at IMD Pune, night temperatures in Pune and North-Central Maharashtra are likely to drop by 2-4°C between February 12 and 14.

The drop in temperatures is attributed to the penetration of northerly winds following the passage of a Western Disturbance (WD). Areas in North-Central Maharashtra, including Vidarbha, are expected to experience a decline in night temperatures from the night of February 11 until the forenoon of February 14. Pune is also expected to witness a similar temperature dip.

Temperature Trends Across Maharashtra

As per the latest temperature records, Maharashtra’s highest temperature was recorded at 36.8°C, while Nashik recorded the lowest at 14.4°C. In Pune, the maximum temperature stood at 34.8°C, and the minimum at 15.8°C. Mumbai registered a maximum of 29.6°C and a minimum of 21.5°C.
