Two-Hour Traffic Block on Mumbai-Pune Expressway on June 18

MSRDC has announced a two-hour traffic block/diversion at Km 41/000 near the Adoshi Tunnel on June 18, 2026 for removal of loose rocks/stones trapped inside the rockfall protection netting to prevent future landslides.

Details of the Traffic Block

  • Date: Thursday, June 18, 2026.
  • Timing: 12:00 PM to 02:00 PM (2-hour block).

Pune to Mumbai Direction (Borghat Bandh):

  • Location of Block: Km 59/000.
  • Restriction: Complete ban on all heavy and multi-axle vehicles.

Mumbai to Pune Direction (Borghat Bandh):

  • Location of Block: Km 30/000.
  • Restriction: Complete ban on all heavy and multi-axle vehicles.

Alternate Routes & Traffic Diversions

1. Light Vehicles & Buses heading Pune âž” Mumbai:

  • Light motor vehicles (cars/SUVs) and passenger buses coming from Pune will be allowed to continue towards Mumbai.
  • Traffic will be regularized/diverted from Km 59/000 via the connecting link route to continue onward journeys.

2. Light Vehicles & Buses heading Mumbai âž” Pune:

  • Light motor vehicles (cars/SUVs) and passenger buses coming from Mumbai will remain operational.
  • Traffic will be diverted from Km 31/000 via the connecting link route to continue toward Pune.

3. Local Traffic (Lonavala & Khandala area):

  • Light motor vehicles and buses originating directly from Lonavala and Khandala toward Mumbai will be allowed to pass.
  • However, any heavy or multi-axle vehicles attempting to join the Expressway from this area will be stopped entirely at Km 45/000.

MSRDC advises travelers to plan their journeys accordingly.
