Pune: PMC to Start Inspection and Cleaning of Stormwater Drains from Monday

In a proactive measure to prepare for the impending monsoon season, the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has announced that it will commence inspections of stormwater drains across the city starting this Monday. This initiative is part of the annual pre-monsoon preparation efforts by the corporation.

Historically, the PMC has undertaken the task of cleaning main drains, rainwater drains, and channels throughout Pune. Despite these efforts, recent years have seen these activities often remain unfinished as the monsoon sets in.

To address this issue, this year, Additional Commissioner Prithviraj BP has decided to personally visit and inspect the sites to ensure the readiness of the city’s drainage system before the monsoon begins.
