Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) announced that the traffic has been allowed on the Mumbai-bound section of the missing link at 10.10 pm after removing the debris, cleaning the carriageway and conducting safety inspections.

MSRDC claims that the carriageway was opened only after satisfactory inspections by MSRDC Road Safety Engineer and the construction company.

However, currently only two lanes are operating and the other two lanes are kept closed due to heavy flow of water coming from the hills above.

After removing the debris, the road was cleaned using specialized equipment to leave no traces of slush or debris to ensure smooth vehicular movement.

MSRDC advises citizens avoid non-essential travel on the expressway during heavy rains and abide by the advisories issued by the authorities from time to time.
