According to the latest IMD forecast map, a yellow “Watch” alert has been issued for central and eastern districts, including Pune, Ahilyanagar, Beed, Hingoli, and Parbhani. The entire Vidarbha region, covering Buldhana, Akola, Amravati, Washim, Yavatmal, Wardha, Nagpur, Bhandara, Gondia, Chandrapur, and Gadchiroli, is also under the yellow scanner.

Local weather officials state that these areas are highly likely to experience thunderstorms accompanied by lightning, light to moderate rainfall, and gusty winds reaching speeds of 30–40 kmph at isolated places. Residents in these pockets are advised to stay cautious, avoid standing under trees during lightning, and secure loose structures.

In contrast, the coastal belt and parts of western Maharashtra can breathe a sigh of relief. A green “No Warning” alert has been designated for the Konkan division, including Mumbai, Thane, Palghar, Raigad, Ratnagiri, and Sindhudurg. Northern and southern districts like Nandurbar, Dhule, Jalgaon, Nashik, Satara, Sangli, and Kolhapur, alongside parts of Marathwada including Sambhajinagar, Jalna, Nanded, Dharashiv, Latur, and Sholapur, are also under the green zone. These regions will only experience light to moderate rain, with no severe weather activity expected.

No districts in the state are currently under an orange or red alert, indicating that while precautions are necessary in the yellow zones, there is no immediate cause for panic.
