Customs Intercept Wildlife Trafficker at Bengaluru Airport, Seize 10 Yellow Anacondas
Bengaluru air customs foiled an attempt to smuggle 10 Yellow Anacondas concealed in checked-in bag of a passenger arriving from Bangkok.
The passenger who arrived from Bangkok was intercepted by Bengaluru air customs. Upon investigation, it was found that the passenger was trying to smuggle 10 Yellow Anacondas in his checked-in baggage.
The passenger has been arrested and further investigation is underway.
Bengaluru air customs in a statement said that wildlife trafficking will not be tolerated.
The yellow anaconda, also known as the Paraguayan anaconda, is a boa species endemic to southern South America. It is one of the largest snakes in the world but smaller than its close relative, the green anaconda.Â
