Hinjawadi Traffic Alert: Major Diversions for Pune Grand Tour Stage 1 Today

HINJAWADI, PUNE, January 20, 2026: As the international cycling spectacle, the Bajaj Pune Grand Tour 2026, kicks off its first competitive stage today, January 20, the Hinjawadi IT hub is set to witness significant traffic regulations. The Pimpri-Chinchwad Traffic Police have issued a detailed notification for the “Stage 1” route, which passes through major IT corridors and urban junctions.

To ensure the safety of the international riders and local commuters, traffic restrictions will be strictly enforced between 9:00 AM and 6:00 PM.

Key Prohibited Routes and Alternative Diversions in Hinjawadi:

According to the official notification issued by Vivek Patil, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic), the following diversions are in place for the Hinjawadi Traffic Division:

  • Bhoirwadi to Helipad Circle: All vehicle movement from Bhoirwadi village toward Helipad Circle is prohibited.
  • Alternative: Commuters are advised to use the internal roads via Capital Circle.
  • Symphony Society to Hinjawadi Phase 3: Vehicles cannot travel from Symphony Society toward Bapujibuwa Temple or Hinjawadi Phase 3.
  • Alternative: Traffic from Maan village toward Bapujibuwa Khind should travel via Chande Phata. Those heading to Phase 3 should go through Maan village.
  • Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj Chowk to Shinde Vasti: No entry for vehicles on this stretch.
  • Alternative: Traffic from Tata T-Junction toward Shinde Vasti should be diverted via Laxmi Chowk.
  • Laxmi Chowk to Kasarsai/Marunji: Access to Kasarsai and Marunji villages from Laxmi Chowk is closed.
  • Alternative: Use Tata T-Junction and Phase 3 to reach these destinations.
  • Mezza 9 to Laxmi Chowk: Traffic is prohibited from Mezza 9 toward Laxmi Chowk.
  • Alternative: Commuters should use Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Chowk.
  • Kasturi Chowk to Vinode Vasti: No vehicle movement allowed on this route.
  • Alternative: Traffic from Bhumkar Chowk toward Vinode Vasti Corner should use Indian Oil Chowk or Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Chowk.
  • MIDC Circle to Helipad Circle: This stretch is closed for the duration of the race.
  • Alternative: Vehicles should turn right at MIDC Circle and proceed via Maan village.

Emergency Access Only

Only police vehicles and vehicles associated with the Pune Grand Tour are exempt from these restrictions. Citizens are requested to cooperate with the traffic police and use the designated alternative routes to avoid congestion during this international event.
