A video of a woman cooking Maggi noodles inside a train using an electric kettle has gone viral, prompting a sharp reaction from Central Railway. The clip shows her preparing noodles in an AC coach after plugging the kettle into the charging socket, a facility meant only for low-power devices like mobile phones.

The woman joked that her “kitchen is always open” and claimed she even made tea for around 15 people using the same kettle before cooking the noodles. The exact train and route are not yet known.

The video triggered strong reactions online. Many users called the act irresponsible and dangerous, questioning how such appliances were allowed onboard. Several pointed out that high-wattage devices could overload the train’s electrical system and pose a fire risk to passengers.

Central Railway issued a firm response, calling the act unsafe, illegal and a punishable offence. The authorities said action has begun against the creator of the video and the woman featured in it. They warned that using appliances like kettles could lead to fire incidents, disrupt electricity supply, and affect systems like air conditioning and electronic ports inside coaches.

Railway officials urged passengers to avoid using any high-load electrical devices on board and to report such incidents immediately. They also reminded that sockets provided in coaches are designed only for charging mobiles and laptops, not for cooking appliances.

The incident has reignited conversations about passenger behaviour, safety norms on trains and the trend of filming risky content to gain attention on social media.
