Only Light Rain for Now in Mumbai and Pune, More Showers Expected from September 4, Says IMD Expert

Weather experts have said that there will be no heavy rain in Mumbai and Pune for the next four days. According to Anupam Kashyapi, former head of the Weather Forecasting Division at IMD Pune, the upper air circulation (UAC) has now shifted towards Gujarat and southwest Madhya Pradesh, which has reduced the chances of rainfall across Maharashtra in the immediate period.
For now, only the ghats of Pune, Satara, and parts of the Konkan have a yellow alert. Pune city may see short spells of light rain, while Mumbai can expect light to moderate showers.
However, conditions are expected to change from 4 September evening onwards. Rain activity is likely to increase in both Mumbai and Pune for a couple of days. Between 5 and 7 September, districts in Konkan, including Mumbai, along with North Central Maharashtra and the ghats of Pune and Satara, may experience heavier rainfall. An orange alert could be issued during this period.
Meanwhile, north Vidarbha is likely to have a yellow alert. Authorities have advised residents to stay updated with weather warnings.
