Tamil Pilot’s Adorable Annoucement in Hindi Wins Hearts Online: “Uppar main, 3,000 feet pe… turbulence thora, daga daga daga karega”
A video of an IndiGo pilot charming passengers with his broken Hindi announcement is winning hearts online. Captain Pradeep Krishnan, from Tamil Nadu, was flying a Patna-bound IndiGo flight when he decided to greet passengers in Hindi, a language he admitted he wasn’t fluent in.
His announcement, filled with humour and simplicity, had the cabin laughing. He said, “Sabka namaskar hai. Mera Hindi sundar hai, sab adjust kar lega. Hum aaj Patna se aage jaata hai. Uppar main, 3,000 feet pe… turbulence thora, daga daga daga karega. Seat belt daalenge nahi toh adega.”
The lighthearted attempt struck a chord with passengers and later with thousands on social media after the video surfaced online. Many praised his humility and confidence, pointing out that the effort to connect in a non-native language mattered more than perfect grammar.
One user wrote, “That’s very cute. Full marks for trying to speak in a language which is not your mother tongue.” Another appreciated the mix of languages across India, saying it added flavour and warmth to conversations.
Comments poured in calling his announcement “funny and cute,” while others noted that his words made passengers listen more attentively. One user summed it up well: “Captain, aapki Hindi bohut sundar hai. The important thing is the message reached everyone, which you did with both words and actions.”
Captain Krishnan’s viral moment shows how small gestures, even in imperfect words, can bring people closer and leave a lasting smile.
