Rains to return in Maharashtra; Many Districts Brace for Rough Weather as IMD issues alerts

Mumbai, August 12, 2025: After a lull of almost a fortnight, rainy weather is set to return to many districts in Maharashtra including Mumbai.

As per latest weather alerts from Regional Metereological Center (RMC) Mumbai, rain and thunderstorm is expected to batter the state in the coming few days.

Here is the summary of weather across different regions of the state for the next few days till August 15.

Maharashtra Weather Alerts

Konkan Division

Districts: Palghar, Thane, Mumbai, Raigad, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg

• Palghar, Mumbai – Mostly light to moderate rain, with thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds (30–40 kmph) on 13th–14th August.
• Thane – Thunderstorms most days; heavy rain alert for 15th August.
• Raigad – Moderate rain initially, then thunderstorms; heavy rainfall on 14th and 15th August.
• Ratnagiri – Moderate rain early, shifting to heavy rainfall from 13th to 15th August.
• Sindhudurg – Thunderstorm with heavy rain on 12th; heavy rainfall continues till 15th August.

Pune Division

Districts: Pune, Satara, Sangli, Solapur, Kolhapur

• Pune – Light rain initially, increasing to thunderstorms on 14th and moderate rain on 15th.
• Ghats of Pune – Moderate rain early; heavy rain alert on 15th August.
• Satara – Thunderstorms on 12th–13th; moderate rains later.
• Ghats of Satara – Heavy rain alerts on 14th–15th August.
• Sangli – Light to moderate rain, occasional thunderstorms.
• Solapur – Mix of thunderstorms and light/moderate rain.
• Kolhapur – Mostly light to moderate rain; Ghats face heavy rain from 13th to 15th August.

Nashik Division

Districts: Nashik, Jalgaon, Dhule, Nandurbar, Ahmednagar

• Nashik & Ghats of Nashik – Light to moderate rain and thundershowers most days; no heavy rain warnings.
• Jalgaon, Dhule, Nandurbar – Light rain or thundershowers through the period, low severity but persistent.
• Ahmednagar (Ahilyanagar) – Light rain early; thunderstorm + gusty wind warnings on 14th–15th August.

Aurangabad Division

Districts: Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Jalna, Beed, Hingoli, Nanded, Parbhani, Latur, Dharashiv

• Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Jalna, Parbhani – Light to moderate rain interspersed with thunderstorms and gusty winds.
• Beed – Multiple thunderstorm days, including continuous alerts from 13th–15th August.
• Hingoli – Thunderstorms most days; heavy rain with gusty winds on 15th August.
• Nanded – Series of thunderstorms; heavy rain alert on 15th August.
• Latur – Thunderstorms early; moderate rain on 15th August.
• Dharashiv – Similar to Latur, with thunderstorms on 11th–12th.

Amravati Division

Districts: Amravati, Akola, Buldhana, Yavatmal, Washim

• Amravati, Akola, Buldhana – Frequent thunderstorms with lightning, especially on 11th, 14th, and 15th August.
• Yavatmal – Thunderstorms most days; heavy/very heavy rainfall alerts on 14th–15th August.
• Washim – Thunderstorms early; heavy rainfall on 14th–15th August.

Nagpur Division

Districts: Nagpur, Wardha, Bhandara, Gondia, Chandrapur, Gadchiroli

• Nagpur – Thunderstorms with lightning on most days, no heavy rain alerts.
• Wardha – Thunderstorms early; heavy rain alerts for 14th–15th August.
• Bhandara – Thunderstorms most days; no warning on 13th August.
• Gondia – Heavy rain on 14th August; thunderstorms on other days.
• Chandrapur – Heavy rainfall from 13th–15th August.
• Gadchiroli – Heavy rain alerts throughout, with very heavy rain possible on 14th August.
