Tempo Traveller overturns near Chandni Chowk on Pune-Bangalore Highway; Four Injured
Pune, June 30, 2023: In a road mishap that took place earlier on Friday, a tempo traveller overturned near Chandni Chowk on the Pune-Bangalore highway, causing minor injuries to four passengers and leading to a temporary traffic snarl.
The incident happened at around 7:30 am, disrupting the morning rush hour. The vehicle was navigating its way from Karvenagar to Hinjewadi when the accident occurred, said local police.
An initial investigation reveals the cause of the accident to be the vehicle’s steering rod failure, which left the driver unable to maintain control. All four passengers aboard sustained minor injuries due to the unexpected incident.
Quick to respond, local police and rescue teams were immediately dispatched to the site. Efforts to remove the overturned vehicle from the road and restore normal traffic flow were promptly initiated.

“The steering rod had broken, leading to this unfortunate incident,” a police representative reported. “We’re grateful that the injuries sustained by the passengers are minor.”
