Supriya Sule Escapes Unhurt After Reckless Driver Rams Car on Mumbai-Pune Expressway

Pune, May 10, 2026: Senior Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader and Baramati Member of Parliament, Supriya Sule, escaped a potentially serious accident on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway on Saturday evening. The incident occurred when a speeding vehicle reportedly rammed into her car from the side, highlighting the persistent dangers of reckless driving on one of India’s busiest highways.
According to reports, Sule was traveling from Pune to Mumbai when her vehicle was struck by a car bearing the license plate GJ13CF5257. Despite the impact, Sule, her driver Mr. Gaikwad, and the other occupants of the vehicle were unharmed.
A Call for Responsibility
Taking to social media shortly after the incident, the NCP Working President shared details of the encounter, identifying the offending vehicle and using the platform to advocate for better road discipline.
“Incidents like these are a serious reminder that overspeeding and negligence on our roads can put countless lives at risk,” Sule stated. She emphasized that road safety is a collective responsibility, noting that even if one drives carefully, the negligence of others can still lead to life-threatening situations.
Safety Measures Save Lives
Sule urged all commuters to remain alert and strictly adhere to safety protocols, specifically calling for the consistent use of seat belts. “I urge everyone to wear seat belts, remain alert, and drive responsibly so that our highways are safer for all,” she added, thanking well-wishers for their concern.
The Mumbai-Pune Expressway has long been under scrutiny for high-speed accidents. This latest incident involving a high-profile lawmaker is expected to reignite discussions regarding stricter enforcement of speed limits and lane discipline on the corridor.
