Pune: Shared Feeder Auto Service Launched at Shivajinagar Metro Station; One Pune Student Pass Now Available for ₹59
Pune Metro and the Maharashtra Rickshaw Panchayat on Friday launched the Shared Feeder Auto Service at Shivajinagar Metro Station. The initiative is expected to make travel to and from Metro stations more convenient while encouraging greater use of public transport.
The service was inaugurated by Captain Dr. Rajendra Saner-Patil, General Manager (MMI/HR), Pune Metro. The launch programme was attended by Maharashtra Rickshaw Panchayat Founder President Baba Kamble, office-bearers of the Panchayat, Pune Metro officials and employees, along with a large number of auto-rickshaw drivers.
The newly launched feeder service is designed to bridge the gap between Metro stations and nearby residential, commercial and institutional areas. By providing shared auto-rickshaw connectivity, Pune Metro aims to make the overall commuting experience smoother and more affordable for passengers.
The initiative has been launched jointly by Pune Metro and the Maharashtra Rickshaw Panchayat, which represents a significant section of the city’s auto-rickshaw operators. Officials said such collaborations can help strengthen public transport networks and provide commuters with more travel options.
