Pune: Police Issue Ganesh Visarjan Traffic Advisory; Share Ring Road Route, Live Ganpati Tracking Portal
Pune, September 24, 2026: Pune Police have issued detailed travel instructions for citizens ahead of the Ganesh Visarjan processions, informing them about major roads that will be affected in the Peth and Deccan areas and an alternative Ring Road route that can be used to travel across the city.
Police have also asked citizens to use their dedicated traffic diversion website to check road closures, diversion points, parking and ambulance locations. The website will also provide live locations of the Manache Ganpati and other major participating Mandals.

Major roads to be affected during Ganesh Visarjan
According to Pune Police, the city’s major Ganesh Visarjan processions take place in the Peth and Deccan areas.
The main roads affected in these areas include Shivaji Road, Bajirao Road, Kumthekar Road, Kelkar Road, Laxmi Road, Tilak Road, Shastri Road, a portion of Karve Road, JM Road and FC Road.
Alternative Ring Road route for travel across Pune
To help citizens travel from one part of Pune to another while the procession routes are affected, police have created an alternative Ring Road route.
Citizens can use the route connecting Nal Stop, Swargate, Golibar Maidan, RTO and the Senapati Bapat Road junction.

Pune Police have advised citizens to use diversion.punepolice.gov.in for detailed information during the Visarjan period.
The portal provides details of roads that are closed, including the start and end points of the restrictions. Citizens can also check diversion points, parking locations and ambulance spots.
Those heading out for Ganpati darshan can use the portal to track the live locations of the Manache Ganpati and other major Mandals participating in the procession.
According to Pune Police, the website received nearly 20.7 million (2.07 crore) hits during the Wari period.
Police have requested citizens to make use of the portal and cooperate with the traffic arrangements.
Pune Police advise citizens to use Metro
Pune Police have also encouraged citizens to use the Metro during the Visarjan period, particularly those planning to visit the city for Ganpati darshan or participate in the procession.
