Pune Metro Line 3 Bicycles Not Allowed on Puneri Metro

Passengers travelling on Pune Metro Line 3, also known as Puneri Metro or the Pink Line, are not permitted to carry bicycles inside metro trains. Pune IT City Metro Rail Limited (PITCMRL) has issued a reminder asking commuters to follow the travel guidelines to ensure safe and hassle-free journeys.

In a public advisory, the metro operator clarified that bicycles are not permitted inside Puneri Metro trains. It has requested passengers to cooperate with metro staff and follow the rules for a comfortable commuting experience.

The advisory comes a day after Pune Metro Line 3 commenced passenger operations on November 4, 2026, receiving an enthusiastic response from commuters. The 23.203-km elevated corridor connects Maan and Rajiv Gandhi Infotech Park in Hinjawadi with Shivajinagar. Passenger services began simultaneously from Maan and District Court stations at 6 am. The new corridor allows commuters travelling from Hinjawadi, Wakad, Balewadi and Baner to connect with the existing Pune Metro network at District Court station. A pedestrian bridge facilitates interchange with Line 1 (Purple Line), connecting PCMC with Swargate, and Line 2 (Aqua Line), connecting Vanaz with Ramwadi.

However, passengers changing between Line 3 and the existing two corridors should remember that the services operate under separate ticketing arrangements. Commuters travelling across the two metro systems receive tickets with separate QR codes, which must be scanned at the respective entry points. Passengers can also use the National Common Mobility Card (NCMC), or One Nation One Card, across the services.

Pune Metro Line 3 is operated by PITCMRL under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model and is expected to provide a faster public transport option for thousands of commuters travelling between Hinjawadi and central Pune. (Pune News)
