Pune: Expect warmer nights from today

Expect warmer nights

Puneites can expect warmer nights from today to January 27. Under the impact of a western disturbance, temperatures are forecast to continue 2-3 degrees Celsius above normal, according to IMD.

On Sunday, the minimum temperatures at the Shivajinagar and Lohegaon observatories were 11.5 degrees Celsius and 14 degrees Celsius, respectively, 0.4 degrees Celsius and 1 degree Celsius above normal.

Aurangabad remained the coldest place in the state, measuring 11.3 degrees Celsius.

“From January 23 until January 27, the minimum temperature in the city is forecast to hover between 13 and 16 degrees Celsius. Except for the Solapur observatory, where the minimum temperature was 0.7 degrees Celsius below average, all other observatories in Madhya Maharashtra, including Pune district, recorded temperatures above normal on Sunday.

“Between January 25 and 28, it is possible for southerly winds from the Bay of Bengal to interact with chilly, wet northerly winds from northern India across north Maharashtra. As a result, cloud cover will increase across portions of north-central Maharashtra. The possibility of very light to light rain cannot be ruled out, particularly in the regions of Vidarbha, north Madhya Maharashtra, and north Marathwada” IMD noted.

According to IMD, in the next days, gloomy skies will likely produce an increase in minimum temperatures with a decrease in daytime temperatures. In January, single-digit temperatures are not forecast in the state.
