Pune Diwali Holiday Revised: November 9 Declared Local Holiday for Government Offices
A local holiday declared for Diwali in Pune district has been shifted from Friday, November 6, to Monday, November 9, 2026, for government and semi-government offices.
Divisional Commissioner Sheetal Teli-Ugle has issued revised orders changing the date of the local holiday, which was earlier declared on the occasion of Dhanteras.
The revised order has been issued under the powers granted by the state government’s General Administration Department notification dated March 14, 1983. Offices covered by the order have been asked to take note of the change.
The revised holiday applies to the relevant government and semi-government offices in Pune district. It should not be treated as a separate public holiday applicable to all offices across Maharashtra.
