Pimpri-Chinchwad Traffic Police Take 5.72 Lakh Actions in 2026, Collect ₹63.78 Crore in Fines
Pune, September 23, 2026: The Pimpri-Chinchwad Traffic Police have taken 5,72,018 actions against motorists for traffic violations so far in 2026 and imposed fines totalling ₹63,78,47,650, according to a press note issued by the traffic branch.
The action was carried out under the directions of Police Commissioner Vinaykumar Choubey and the guidance of Joint Commissioner of Police Shashikant Mahavarkar and Additional Commissioner of Police Sarang Awad.
Among the violations, the traffic police took action in 72,123 cases of riding without a helmet, 53,840 cases involving fancy number plates, 27,597 cases involving black glass and 10,203 cases involving modified silencers.
The traffic branch also said that during the past week, action was taken against vehicle owners and drivers found using logos of MLA/Member of Legislative Assembly and the Ashoka emblem on their vehicles without authorisation. The action was taken under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Motor Vehicles Act. Proposals for suspension of the vehicle permits concerned will also be sent as per rules.
