Now a Pune Man Receives Rs 3 Crore Bill for Uber Auto Ride After Similar Instances in Noida and Hyderabad

Pune Uber Billing Error

In an astonishing turn of events, a Pune resident, Deepansh Pratap, was left bewildered when he received a staggering Rs 3 crore bill for a routine auto ride via Uber. This incident follows similar outrageous billing errors in Noida and Hyderabad, where customers were charged Rs 7 crore and Rs 1 crore, respectively, for their auto rides.

Pratap took his grievance to social media, highlighting the absurdity of the situation. “How come a bill of Rs 3Cr plus for an auto ride? It was not a chartered airplane for God’s sake! @Uber_India @Uber @Uber_Support @UberIN_Support @UberEng. It was embarrassing because the driver thought it would be billed to him if I didn’t pay. He argued for 15 minutes in sun!” he expressed on X (formerly Twitter).

Responding to the uproar, Uber India has acknowledged the issue and reached out to Pratap for further details to initiate an investigation. “Hi Deepansh, we understand your concern and would like to get this addressed. Could you please share your registered contact details via Direct Message? We’ll promptly follow up,” the company stated.

The news has sparked widespread attention and concern over the billing system of Uber, especially after a similar case in Noida where Deepak Tenguriya faced a jaw-dropping bill of Rs 7.66 crore after a short auto ride. The incident, highlighted by Tenguriya’s friend Ashish Mishra through a video on X, received an apology from Uber India Customer Support, assuring that they were looking into the matter.

Uber India’s repeated billing errors have raised questions about the reliability of their fare calculation mechanisms, prompting the company to take swift actions to rectify these anomalies and restore customer trust.
